VACANCY : DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER

 

Applications are invited to fill the post of Deputy General Manager at the National Water & Sewerage Authority in Grenada.

 

The Deputy General Manager reports to and is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the overall strategy and operations of the organization in general, but will have specific responsibility for the management of all activities related to the technical/engineering departments.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILIITES

 

·        Direct daily supervision of the technical/engineering departments.

·        Analyse operations to evaluate performance of the organization in general but more specifically the technical departments, and to determine areas for potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change to lead to improved operational efficiencies.

·        Ensure that the organisation in general but more specifically the technical departments are operating in a financially viable manner and within given budgets

·        Motivate, lead and direct the technical  team

·        Prepare budgets for approval as necessary.

·        Provide strategic management for the organization

·        Continually develop and adjust policies to build a culture that is efficient and positive

·        Ensure that resources are utilized in the most efficient way

·        Ensure that the organisation complies with all legal and statutory requirements

·        Execute and/or facilitate decisions of the Board

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

·        MSc Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field with at least 7 years experience in a Senior Engineering and/or Management position

·        BSc Degree in Civil/Environmental  Engineering or related field with at least 15 years experience in a Senior Engineering and/or Management position

·        Previous Engineering and/or Operations and Maintenance experience in a Water Utility is a definite asset.
